FERRARI THREATENS LIMO OWNER.

A British man who built himself a twenty-three-foot-long Ferrari 360 Modena Limo for the princely sum of £200,000. The car’s builder, Dan Cawley, may have expected to get cited for bad taste, or even rebuffed by the local Ferrari club, but he most likely didn’t expect to be sued by Ferrari itself.
But Cawley may well be facing a lawsuit if he doesn’t agree to “de-Ferrari” his 360 stretch. The Italian automaker is reportedly threatening Cawley with legal action unless he agrees to remove all of the prancing horse badges, Ferrari names, and 360 Modena tags from the limousine. Ferrari maintains that by modifying the car in such an extreme fashion it has ceased to be a Ferrari, and therefore Cawley is infringing by using the company’s iconography.
The limo’s owner asks the fair question, “What kind of precedent does it set when you can’t do what you like with your own property?”
