ALL 300 MUGEN CIVCS SOLD in 10 MINUTES!

Remember the Mugen Road to Racing Concept from earlier this year? Well, it made it to the Japanese domestic market and all 300 copies were spoken for a mere ten minutes after it went on sale. Sadly, the car won’t be offered for sale to Mugen fans in the U.S.
Clearly this car is aimed at track day regulars who also want to drive on the street. Upgrades over the already appetizing Civic Type R include reduced weight, by 22 lbs, an extra 15 horsepower, a spiffy bodykit, stronger brakes, stiffer suspension, Recaro buckets and sportier wheels and tires. Those keeping track of vital stats will be happy to hear the RR weighs a mere 2733 lbs and packs a full 240 horsepower at 8000 rpm. That power and weight translates to a 1:06:68 lap around Japan’s Tsukuba circuit.
Those 300 lucky souls with reservations have until January to come up with the ¥4,777,500 (about $41,194 at current exchange rates) each Milan Red example commands. There’s no denying the appeal of this forbidden fruit, but more than $40,000 for a Civic is a bit hard to swallow since the Civic Si runs about half that on U.S. soil.
