WORLD'S LARGEST DUMP TRUCK.

Back in 1974, General Motors’ earthmoving division fiercely competed against Caterpillar and Lectra-Haul to build the biggest truck. Possibly suffering from some form of inferiority complex, Terex worked up a design for a three-axle rig capable of hauling 350 tons. The 33-19 measures close to 67 feet long, 25 feet wide, and 22 feet high. For powertrain, Terex reached out to GM’s locomotive division, Electro-Motive, and snagged a giant 170-liter, 3300 horsepower V-16 turbodiesel and a matching electric drive system to move the beast.
