TOYOTA TO BRING BACK CELICA IN 2009

Toyota German Chief, Markus Schrick, has gone on the record as saying that though a Celica return looks to be in the cards, it would start as a European only proposition. Schrick went so far as to call Germany’s famed autobahns a “unique selling point” with regards to sports cars.

Though the future Celica may kick off in Europe, it certainly wouldn’t be radical to think that the car could make its way to the U.S. where previous iterations have certainly found success. Even more intriguing though, is the idea of the Celica being built on a RWD platform that would dovetail with another possible entry-level model from Toyota.
