SPLINTER: THE FIRST WOODEN SUPERCAR.
Why one would build a wooden supercar is beyond us but it's fun nonetheless. The wooden supercar is being built by students and will be powered by a 600-hp twin supercharged Cadillac Northstar V8 engine. It's supposed to weigh in at 2,500 pounds and also include a wooden chassis, body as well as certain wooden parts for the suspension and wheels.
The Splinter is a graduate project for some students at NC State and we can't wait to see what this "supercar" will - or will not do. Regardless, it looks like a lot of fun.
